Now don't get to excited, nothing to personal is going here. Just common day stuff.
September 3, 2005 Sunday
Okay so it has been awhile since I have logged in....I could use the excuse of no
internet since March...but that does not explain the December to March logs...guess
I could say I was stressed and very busy. It seems on January 1 my car was totalled
and Gerald's nicked by a drunk driver who could not see the parked cars on the street.
Mom came to my rescue and let me buy her car...good thing it has great gas mileage. Which
comes in handy with the gas crisses going on today. Never thought I would pay more than
two dollars for gas...now it is past three dollars...yikes.
December 18, 2004 Saturday
Ruby and Greg are the greatest! Take a look at the great Christmas tree they made for
Gerald and me.
Nov 29, 2004 Monday
What a Thanksgiving weekend! Family, Friends and Food...oh yeah pets and drinks..lol!
Gerald came in Tuesday so I took a personal day. Still went to school to do the ring
kickoff...such dedication I have. Tuesday night we went to Mom's for Famous Dave's barbeque.
Was great seeing Wes, Lisa, Callie, and Jake. Love them all! Cathy, Harrison, and Olivia
also came. One big happy family.
Wednesday morning went to Mom's and then home for Gerald to
fix the toilet. He is handy to have around! That evening back to Mom's for beef stew/ Pot
roast. I helped Mom while the rest of the gang went to see a movie. Enjoyed my time with Mom.
She is looking so young and sassy.
Thursday was of course turkey day and ohh was it good!
Mom gave everyone some really cool wine glasses that Lisa and Wes had etched with
Thanksgiving 2004 and Fun Shine Inn. Of
course even the kids got a glass...and I am not sure how the wine found its way into the glasses.
Friday off to see the horses. Midnight was a bit under the weather so he was not ridden. He
is doing okay now. Lisa rode Tess for awhile and then rode Gerald's horse Amy. Lisa is
so beautiful especially when she is on a horse she just glows.
Cathy rode Shummu for a short
trip
and then I jumped on to finish the ride with Ruby, Lisa and Gerald. It was great.
Then back at the barn, Olivia got on Shummu while Callie rode behind Ruby on Nikkia.
Ruby is such a great friend. Both girls had a great time. Then Harrison even rode Shummu.
I was so proud of all the kids.
Of course Gerald looks great on Amy especially with his rope.
Saturday was the big decorate Cindy's house. Oh how
I love all the Christmas spirit. Bonnie and David came and joined the fun. I now have a
ceiling fan with a upside down Santa, two angels, and one snowman hanging from the blades.
The house is now ready for the season.
Nov 10, 2004 still Wednesday just latter
Finally know what Santa looks like under his suit!
November 14, 2004 Sunday
Had a great weekend! Gerald came down for the weekend. He came in on Friday and I
backed him some chicken. Saturday bright and early we went to Ruby's for a great ride
our first ride with our own horse alone together. I was very spooked but Gerald helped me.
Picture under Midnights log. Then went to the Rodeo that night. Met up with Ruby and Greg
and had a great time. I love Ruby, she is such great fun. Today Gerald and I went back out to
Ruby's for a quick ride before he had to leave. The three of us had fun. It is deer
gun hunting season so we had to stick to Ruby's land and the front road.
Jamie and Lady Bird both had seizures today ....drives me crazy not knowing what triggers
the seizures. Miss Gerald already but glad he is coming back down next weekend to help me
with the broken toilet and getting ready for Christmas. He is a good man!
November 9, 2004 Wednesday
Okay it has been another fine day. Students are wonderful and I love my horse club. They are
such wonderful young people. The weather is definitely fall like...cool crisp breeze.
I am slowly getting over my madness with RW. So he really pissed me off. Doesn't mean I
should be in a bad mood. I just wish he would acknowledge how much work I have invested,
and how unfair it is that others have to buy their own desk chairs or have their department
purchase them. We start out with 21 good black chairs for the conference room and the
teachers lounge. Now we only have 18. All three of the chairs have gone to office people.
Yes they do need chairs and yes when theirs breaks why not temporarily borrow while
they order a new one. RW doesn't have a clue how much effort I have put into the conference
room. Beginning of the year it was trashed, boxes of stuff. I had my student aids go
up there and clean up the mess, and you know who is the one that uses the conference room
the most. Well I feel better now that I have vented. Back to life is good and listening to
Christmas music.
October 24, 2004 Sunday
Pictures from Grandma's big 95th birthday party.
Just got home from Michigan spent fall break with Gerald. I already miss him. Friday evening
we went to a really great German Restaurant. Family style servings, and the best fried chicken
I ever had. Then we went to a cool huge Christmas store. Gerald took me to this cool place over fall break.... Bought several gifts for people. I
am now in the Christmas mood. Ready to clean house and start getting ready for the season!
Saturday we went to see Gerald's old trainer Carol. We took Amy with us and Gerald and
Amy had a great and very informative lesson. We then went to a nice Mexican restaurant.
Afterwards we went home and lit candles and the fireplace then watched TLC's Trading places.
Gerald and I love watching how the interior decorator's work. It was a wonderful day.
October 11 2004 Monday
Was a great weekend! Drove to Grandma's house on the lake with Cathy, Harrison, and Olivia to Grandma's on the lake Saturday. Gerald drove down to meet
us! He is such a wonderful man. Ken Corkie, Earl, Lisa Wes Jake and Callie, Lisa (cousin)
Jodi, Jed, Jace and Dan and of course Grandma were all there by evening. We had sloppy
joes for dinner. Callie's favorite...and birthday cake! Callie's seventh birthday. She is so
cute. Cathy and Harrison set up one tent in grandma's front yard, Olivia had another and Gerald
and I our own tent. So cool sleeping outside. At fivish Sunday morning, the men..Dan, Ken,
Wes, Harrison and Gerald started cooking the pig on a big spit. It was so cool watching the
process...I of course went back to sleep and left the guys with their pig. Sunday was a good
day to celebrate Grandma's birthday. Her party at the lodge was great! Only down side was
that Wes and his family had to leave as did Gerald at 4:30. It was good visiting with
everyone. Well we, Cathy's family and me, left this morning. I was so bad ...Cathy had
to drive the whole way.
September 22, 2004 Wednesday
Homecoming decorations have finally been put up...they actually look pretty good. I have some
of the best students. Several of them have been staying after and they have such nice
attitudes about life..makes me feel blessed to be their teacher. On yeah the North Bullitt
website is looking great.
September 19, 2004 Sunday
Such a wonderful day...Midnight and I went on a great Poker ride!
September 18, 2004 Saturday
Just got home from a wonderful time out to eat with Mom, Cathy, Bonnie and Carol. We went
to the Mayan Gypsy. Women's night out is so fun. Food wine and laughter makes life so much
richer.
September 17
Fourteen women give or take at Louis's house and fun is the main dish. Bonnie cooked her
awesome stir fry with spaghetti noodles. Nan brought the "RECIPE" a dangerous alcohol punch.
started the fun ending with some grand sweeties for dessert. Oh yeah...Dean sent a
wonderful eggplant dish with Linda..oh my it was gooood. Wish I was not so allergic
to the night shade.
September 12, 2004 Sunday
Got to go to Ruby's...a wonderful day. Started off with Greg's wonderful biscuite and
gravy. Then off onto the trails..Bill,Ruby and I. We had a great ride ...Midnight seemed to
be a little bit of a klutz. At one point he slid down a muddy hill, but I always felt safe on him.
Ruby and I went for a second ride later after Bill left. I really enjoy talking with Ruby,
she is such a good person.
September 5, 2004 Sunday
Mom's labor day party...So much fun! Bonnie, Lisa S., Dana and her girls, John R, Cathy
and her whole family with extra kids in tow. So much great food, sun, and laughter. Gerald is
so great when he plays with the kids...especially Olivia.
September 4, 2004
Had a wonderful time riding at Ruby's farm. Gerald rode High Class and I of course
rode Midnight my other love of my life. We went on two long rides...way cool. Of course
at one point High Class and Gerald scared the heck out of me by almost sliding down one
of the clay banks backwards..held my breath for a few moments.
September 3, 2004
The love of my life came down and we went to the away football game at southern
high school.
Okay summer pictures of Montana, Washington and Alaska can be found at this link.
Summer 2004
July 17, 2004 Saturday
Arrived at the Ponderosa Inn at Billings Montana. We were then picked up in a three seat Ford pick up truck, the truck did not look like it would make it... no air..and very loud motor. Our stuff was tossed into the back bed and we piled into the trucks cabin. We were concerned we would lose our equipment but all arrived safely if not a bit dirty. It was a two hour drive for about 50 miles....lots of dirt road...heck not sure if I would call them roads..! I went into culture shock when we got to camp...poor Gerald had to take special care of me. Our tent was canvas!

The panic increased as we were shown the outhouse!
After the walk up we were surprised to find it was a two seater!
Oh and the wonderful smells of an outhouse...yuckkk

Then the showerhouse....no laughing aloud...first you had to warm up your shower bags in the sun...

Then carry the bags to the shower...hang it up and hope for the best...

July 16, 2004 Friday
After much driving we have made it to Medora, North Dakota. We first checked
into a motel at a nearby town and then went to Medora for a evening ride at the
Medora Riding stables.
The ride was through part of the badlands. Gerald rode Utah, and I rode Doc.
June 7, 2004
First day of summer school. Went very well. Students were good and seemed willing
to work hard. Only a few of them seemed to get down on theirselfs. Now I am being
lazy. Playing on the computer watching tv while talking to Gerald. Yes I can mult-task.
June 6, 2004 Sunday
Had a great time riding with Ruby today. Wonderful trail through the fields and
woods. Went up and down some clay hills. Way fun!..Shummuu is a great horse. Ruby
says I am going to have to move up to another horse soon. I am getting
to relaxed on Shummmu. Came home to a nice surprise....David from the second floor
mowed the lawn..such a nice man.
June 5 2004 Saturday
Very nice day, went to Ruby's to show Midnight to Mom, John, Cathy and Olivia.
While there Mom took several pictures of me and Midnight. Then we went to Taylorsville
lake and had a nice picnic. When we got back to Cathy's I showed Olivia how to
mail me pictures and how to change her wallpaper. So cool.
June 4, 2004
Spent a very productive day at school...gee it is so peaceful without the students!
Worked on creating a math walk around the three campuses. We,the math department, created problems that
are similar to open response questions on the CATS. So next spring we will have all the
juniors have a field day doing the problems. One of the problems will be combinations!
Mr. Schultz the principal will cook hamburgers, the question ask how many different burgers
you can make from the array of toppings. After working on the field day project we finished up
the summer school packets.
June 3, 2004 Thursday
Closing day! Not real exciting...had to turn in grades, lesson plans, paper work and yet more paper work..
yuck. Then we had a nice retirement luncheon for Mr. Overturf. Mr.Price cracked us up when he started telling
us stories about Turf. Have mixed feelings about Turf retiring...will miss him as a person, but think it is
best for the students. Worked on summer school packets, decided to make new packets for this year. Did not like
last years setup. These packets have a review page and then an extra practice page. I figure if the student
does well on the review page to have them skip the extra practice. No use doing busy work,
the goal is to make sure the student knows the information.
Had a great time working on Ruby's webpage. I changed her
home page, services, and about us!
June 2, 2004 Wednesday
Last day with students...yeee hawww! Actually I will miss them terribly. First period, my algebra I class
I taught them how to solve systems of equations using matrics on the graphing calculator. I even collected
a quick assignment. They were so good....got to love freshmen. Then the rest of the day was cake. My Applied
Math II classes only had the juniors left...gee 8 students each hour...give or take a few bodies. They
talked played cards, and colored pictures. I finished my grades and started posting them. Such a hard day!
Then rushed home got cleaned up and drove back to the school for graduation. Was in charge of the back door,
collecting tickets and keeping an area cleared so the graduates could walk in and out. Loved seeing them get
their diplomas.
June 1, 2004 Tuesday
I miss Gerald...
May 31 Monday..Memorial Day
Slept late, cuddled...had quiet time with Gerald. I read,,,,he worked on the computer. Then he had to
backed up...I hate having to say good bye. Wanted to cry when he sat down and hugged
the dogs good bye.
Did have fun talking to him while he drove home...we discussed the Alaskain cruise.
I was studying the itinerary off the internet. We think we want to do the
Sportfishing at the Sitka port, the Jet boat at Ketchin and Ale and Pub tour in
Victoria.
May 30, Sunday
Went out to Ruby's to have a ride, and grill out with a bunch of other horse people. It turned out to be
fun, even though we did not get to ride.....awful storms. Did see Midnight get ridden with his new
saddle....my birthday gift from Gerald...big grin on my face. We had grilled hamburgers, baked beans,
deviled eggs and of course plenty of beer. Gerald and I really did have fun! Nice to be around real people
who enjoy the simple things...horse...good company...food and drink.
May 29, 2004 Saturday
Went to Mom's to celebrate Olivia's birthday. Olivia had all her little friends over for the party.
They swam and swam and swam....they had fun. Then John and mom took Gerald and I out for dinner. It was great
fun. Went to Famous Daves for Barbecue. I loved it when Gerald told me Mom told him that she has never seen
me so happy before. It does pay to go the ladies room often.
May 28, 2004 Friday
Life is so great....my sweetie came home.....enough said...big grin on my face.
May 24, 2004 Monday
This weekend was fine, just missed Gerald. Saturday I did Saturday School. I loved it two
girls came in to do their senior projects and about 5 kids came in for extra help on an assignment
from another teacher. These students did not have to come in.... Saturday School is a
punishment for students who break school rules. There were 8 students for that....the rest
just knew I was going to be there and showed up....lol...imagine getting up early on a
Saturday morning.
Sunday was a great deal better....went for a ride at Ruby's. A great trail ride and then
saw Ruby ride Midnight. Then went to Mom's to celebrate John's Birthday. The pool felt great.
Had a great day. Life is good.
May 19, 2004 Wednesday
Okay catch up time.... Friday morning I got up and drove to Gerald's home. Got there and
loved being hugged by my sweetie. I do love him so much and feel so at home in his arms. Saturday
we got up very early and drove down to Ohio to pick up Amy. Gerald looks great on her. He
rode her for along time, before we loaded her up into the trailer. It was a good drive back up
to Michigan. Then Sunday we loaded Amy up again. Off to a state park for a trail ride. We met
up with several other equestrian single members. Rhonda was kind enough to bring an extra
horse for me to ride, Prince. Prince is such a wonderful TWH. It was a fun ride. Prince was
such a peaceful ride with a great gait. Amy did very well, only one bit of trouble. Some of the
younger riders took off at a full gallop. So Amy took off with them....yee haww. After that
we separated from the young riders. Rhonda and us had a very enjoyable controlled ride. Then
we loaded up and went home. If you had asked me a year ago if I would be hauling a horse and
then trail riding with a boyfriend I would have laughed and said ...in my dreams. God is good.
Monday was a slower day. We slept late and then went out to play with Amy. Gerald worked
her in the round pen. They work well together. Then we went out to see Gerald's mom and sister.
It was a very nice visit. We gave his mom a prom picture...I think she liked it. Then Tuesday
morning I drove back to Louisville. Did you know that Cracker Barrel now has Atkins friendly
entrees.
May 12, 2004 Wednesday
I really dislike testing week. It is so boring and draining. Okay almost done griping.
Also got mad at Mr. W at school when I tried to explain to him that the coke machines are out
of diet cokes. He got really nasty, and I let it get to me. So I called my doctor and asked
if I could get my medication upped. I did manage to get the energy to buy cat food and toilet paper.
Also cleaned my car out and started my laundry. Oh and I can now find my counter in the kitchen..lol. Nice thing
was Lisa and Wes calling and we having a nice chit chat. Oh yeah yesterday was talking to one
of the teacher aides, she rode in three local rodeo last weekend. She does barrel racing.
What is nice she knows a woman trains reiners. She rides at The Red Barn Stable and highly
suggests the Red Barn. I think maybe someday Gerald can board Amy there and then participate
in the rodeos.
May 9, 2004 Sunday
Had a great day, went out to Ruby's and went for a long ride. Lots of water crossing, hills
branches, so way cool. Afterwards we put Midnight out with the longhorns and
fillies. Midnight and
one of the two year old fillies hit it off. He looks so great. Now I am watching the end
of survivor with Gerald.
May 7, 2004 Friday
Work went well, then off to see my baby, Midnight. I so enjoy loving on him. He brings me such a
feeling of peace and calm. I like to daydream about winning the lottery and having land, Gerald,
horses, cows, big truck and a horse trailer to go around the country in. Daydreams are great while
driving to and from the farm that Midnight is at...sort of like reading a good book.
May 5, 2004 Wednesday
Was on Equestrian singles this afternoon and Sir One told me he is a producer of a play.
I went to the webpage ... bleacherbums.com so cool.
Now I am doing my favorite...talking to Gerald. He rode his motorcycle to work today. Saving money
on gas.
May 4, 2004 Tuesday
Deep yawn .... just got home from the track meet. Love doing the timing...fun to watch the
students compete. Nick R. a previous student came out to help. He is going to be shipped to
Iraq Friday and he wanted to visit. Actually I think he was making sure his track record was
still intact...lol. It is really neat to see the kids become adults. Well need sleep...as I
yawn again. So night night...
May 3, 2004 Monday
Tried to have students work on preparations for cats testing next week. Then off to see
Midnight. Enjoyed watching Ruby ride Midnight..her and Greg seem to really like Midnight. Now
have my feet propped up and talking to Gerald while typing.
May 2, 2004 Sunday
Slow lazy day...woke up late then walked down to the chefs table restaurant. Very good hot
browns. Then to Mom's house to pick up Gerald's glasses. Gerald left at around 2ish. Then I
went back to bed for a little while. Hangover..???
May 1, 2004 Saturday....Derby Day
Great day at Mom's house. Lisa S. Becky C. Bonnie and Larry M. Natalie G. Peg W. Ellen and Skip P.
Olivia P. Christy and Beck. We had wonderful food...Lisa made her famous bacon water chestnut
Skip's bread pudding was wonderful. We were in the pool and hot tub and ohh yeah the horse races.
Derby winner was Smarty Jones. Oh and the Mint Julips were luscious.
April 30, 2004 Friday
Got up and had a nice breakfast with Gerald and then off to the stores, Lots of Pasta, Paul's
fruit market. Then to Mom's house. Gerald helped her in the garden and I helped John with
the burgoo. Then off to home for home cooked steak and canned asparagus.
April 29, 2004
Yee Haaa Derby weekend starts... big smile on my face. Just finished a bottle of sparkling wine
would love to say I shared it but that would be a lie...LOL.. Gerald came in tonight and we watched
Survivor he drank bourbon and I enjoyed the wine. Today was a very pleasant day at work. We had
derby field day at the end and it was great and the kids were wonderful. The juniors kicked butt
on the tug of wars. Well life is good so smile often.
April 28, 2004
Oh happy days are here again..... Ring ceremony is over! I think the kids really enjoyed the evening. I love it
when all the kids have candles lit and we have a moment of silence to think about what it will mean next year to be
senior. It was a very good turn out. Okay my head is big because so many kids told me the loved me and how much
they appreciated the ceremony. My last big hurray for the class of 2005. Now it is time to start working on
next years prom. lol
April 27, 2004
Deep sigh...long day. Woke up running....out of bed to the shower..answer phone, Gerald telling
me that the tags are in for the trailer. In car, school...copy machine get ready for substitute.
Relieve when I find I have a good sub. Off to cafeteria to help get the students ready for the
field trip. On the busses to tell the driver how to get to the e-main street building. Get there
safely. Students take off and I station my self between Brook and Third street. Kids were great
and seemed to enjoy themselves while doing math in the "real world setting". Then at 1:30
loaded the kids back on the busses. Back at school, had to talk to irate parents about ring
ceremony. Then faculty meeting that was about testing week. Yuck.... after meeting I thought
I could catch a few moments of sleep on the couch, but the counselors thought I was sick and woke
me to see if I was okay. Best laid plans....then out onto the track. I do enjoy doing the
timing. It is fun to work with the other teachers. Then home by 8:40, was hoping to continue
working on Ruby's web page but I am too tired....almost skipped doing this..lol. Gerald keeps
me motivated.
April 26, 2004
Manic Monday, the kids were great showing me all their prom pictures, so cool. They all told
me how cute Gerald and I looked together, and that he was a keeper. Had the students make
astrolab to measure angles of elevation. Taking the junior algebra two students on a math city walk
and they will need the astrolabs to find the height of statues using tangent. Also getting ready
for the ring ceremony. Went out and bought candles for the passing of the light of leadership
from the current seniors to the up coming seniors. Then off to do a drive through of Main street
for tomorrow field trip. You all know how bad I am at directions so I wanted to double check. What
is nice is that I found out that our meeting place will be within a block of the Chow Wagon. Now I
am relaxing while talking to Gerald.
April 25, 2004
Oh life is good....prom is over! We slept in late....gee I wonder why...could it be from staying out to late?
Walking and dancing all over the Ballroom. Then we read and drank coffee in bed...okay Gerald had the coffee I had
my usual diet coke. We went to Mom's for birthday lunch for Gerald and Harrison. Famous Daves' barbeque is so good.
Then present time...Mom and John gave Gerald a cool ceramic sake pourer, Blanton's bourbon, and a really cool
shot glass that has a metal horse wrapped around it. The Pendleton's gave him a great cd and some Makers Mark. Then
Harrison got to open his presents....Gerald and I gave him a gift certificate from Best Buys. Mom and John gave him a
really cool baseball bat. Well time was becoming short...back home so Gerald could pack up to leave. It was hectic
weekend but really fun. I really appreciated Gerald coming down to help me with Prom. Again life is so so good.
April 24, 2004 Saturday Gerald's Birthday and Prom Day
Fixed Gerald breakfast and gave him his present. A new head piece for his phone...so he can
talk to me with comfort. Gerald worked on webpage stuff for Ruby while I read and distracted myself. Then we had to get ready
for prom. Off to the Brown we go...made sure everything was going well and then went downstairs to
eat. Four star place...the food was awesome. We started off with proscitto tortellena then caeser
salad. Then a nice sweet soda water to refresh the palate. Gerald had buffalo and I had the lamb.
Afterwards the waitress brought Gerald a wonderful birthday chocolate mouse filled cake. Then we went back up to the ballroom.
The place looked wonderful. Gerald just jumped in and helped. I needed his help with the check in and he did so with
a smile for every kid.
Later we were able to enjoy our selves, we danced and talked with the kids. The kids looked great
and acted very good. Dee from the lunchroom was a great help with checking in and getting around
the ballroom to chaperone. Karen and Sharon also were wonderful checking on the kids and
taking care of the usual teenage disasters. OH my ..my dress is ripped...safety pins were
a hot item.
April 23, 2004
Well I managed to get all the prom picture albums out to the kids and take care of all the last minute
disasters....such as my boyfriend is in jail...and my girlfriend broke up with me. Over all it was a pretty
smooth day. I am actually getting very excited about the prom. Gerald came in around 7:30 pm. It is so nice of
him to come down for prom. We spent a very pleasant evening talking and laughing while he worked on the computer
and I watched tv and read some horse articles. Live is real good.
April 22, 2004 Thursday
Not a bad day, Jostens ring company gave me the nicest picture. It is a picture of a ring
showing both sides and the top. Matt the representative for Jostens had a horse put on one
side for me. The picture is awesome! After school was out I had several kids stay for tutoring.
Then off to the track meet. It rained a little bit at the beginning then became a very nice afternoon.
Now I am enjoying watching Survivor with Gerald. Of course we are in different states. Life is
good with cell phones and head pieces.
April 21, 2004 Wednesday
Hair pulling...lol. Prom details driving me crazy. So many students needing to change
their dates. One girl has changed her date five times. Had to tell one young man that his
date's name was also listed with another person. Was hoping it was an error. OOps! Had to count the
ballots twice for the king, it was only a difference of three votes. I do like the young man and
lady who won. It pour rain most of the day. I found that I actually enjoyed standing in the rain
directing traffic. It is kind of cool when you have a good slicker. I always keep my horse riding
slicker at school for the rain. It is long and work very well. On my way home I picked up Gerald and
Harrison's birthday gifts. I am horse deprived...I miss my Midnight! If the track meet tomorrow
gets cancelled I am going to see my baby. So let it storm let it storm...they only cancel track
meets when there is lightning.
April 20, 2004 Tuesday
Okay prom is coming faster by the second. Today I re-confirmed with the DJ and told him the
theme song, Wonderful Tonight. Also re-confirmed with Grahams the photographer. Need to get Ms.M,
our bookkeeper to cut two checks one for The Brown and for the DJ. Also called
in a reservation at the English Grill for Gerald and I to eat at before prom. The English Grill is a
four star restaurant. I know how important prom is to the kids, and deep down am very excited
about the evening. I love all the wonderful dresses and how handsome the guys look in their tuxs.
Hey Wes, I took the picture of the hummingbird and set it as my background on the computer at
school. Everyone loves it!
April 19, 2004
Was really hard to get going this morning, a bit sore from all the walking and riding.
Prom is my primary concern for the week! Saturday is coming fast. I had to go pick up a tiara for the queen.
also ordered a trophy for the king. Ran off ballets for the seniors to vote for Queen and King.
It is such a worry because it is so important to the kids. Have to call the florist, DJ, photographer,
Metro police, and the hotel again tomorrow. Re check all the details. Perfection is in the details.
I am going to start talking to teachers to see which are planning on attending. I hope everything
goes well...oh and I still have to get Gerald and Harrison something for their birthdays!
April 17 and 18 Saturday and Sunday
Well I got in way to late to do the log for Saturday so I am combining the two days and will
just call it a great weekend!
We, Gerald and I, were planning on a great day on Skip and Ellen's boat to watch Thunder over Louisville.
Well as the say best laid plans. We arrived at Mom's house with beer, chips and great salsa, only to
find out the river was up 18 to 19 feet. So no boat! Well Cathy comes to the rescue by telling
us to join her family at a friends work place that has a big roof overlooking the river. So Gerald ask
Cathy were it is and she says Campbell and Washington. Gerald wrote it down and asked her again
and she said it is at the corner of those two street. So we said we would be there before the
Fireworks start. So we leave to go to the air show that proceeds the Fireworks. We parked my
car in my backyard next to Gerald's truck and walk to the waterfront.
We had a wonderful time watching the planes. Gerald was able to tell me what kind of plane each
was, while I sipped on several cold beers. Then we noticed the time and off we went to find
Cathy's party. Sounded simple except that it was a long way away, and we had the wrong street
intersection. LOL... yes my sister has as bad of a sense of direction as I do. So a couple hours later
we found the place.
The view was worth the effort of finding the location. The food, company and the awesome fireworks
made for an excellent evening. Mom had brought a fantastic homemade cake and John some great potato
salad. The theme for the fireworks was great Broadway theme songs. After the show Gerald and I
made the long walk back home. It was kind of fun with all the traffic and pedestrians. Well needless
to say we slept very well.
Sunday morning I called Ruby and asked if we could have a lesson. YEE HAA she said yes at 10:30. So out
of bed we hit the floor running ....breakfast cooked cars/truck moved, dogs contained! Then the
wonderful drive out there....the land is so green...yellow blossoms..purple blossoms. A feast
for the eyes. At Ruby's we petted my baby Midnight. Then we went on a great ride. Gerald
got to play cowboy with Nakia. Nakia, the mare, was in a mood and bucked balked and did her
best to test Gerald's riding ability. Well he passed with flying colors. Me...I was glad to
be on Shamu. Shamu is also a mare, but very quiet. She only tested me a few times by just stopping
and making me get on her to continue. I had a very relaxing ride. Then Gerald and I talked to
Ruby about her webpage. I cannot wait till I can start on the page...way cool fun!
Well Gerald and I came home and he had to pack up to leave. Now I am typing while talking to him
on the phone. Yes he and I both are using our ear pieces. Life is good!
Ohh yeah, when Wes called Friday night and told me how much he liked my webpage and that
Dad was now reading it, I felt so happy and pleased with myself.
April 16, 2004
A beautiful day outside! Work was fine, I collect binders and graded them before the end of school.
Sold enough prom tickets to cover this year. One less worry now. After school went out to see my baby Midnight. Oh it is so wonderful having
a horse. Then a nice drive back home. Gerald came in earlier than usual, around 8 ish. Okay I have also had
a few sips of very good wine...lol.

Sometimes I forget how wonderful it is to be a teacher, then a student comes and wants to talk
and I then know I am there to help others. I had a young lady ask me if I ever loved some one
so much that I thought I would die without them, and felt like I had to be with them every moment
or you would die. I told her yes when I was a teenager I was miserable with my true love Billy.
I truly believed I would die without his love and had to be with him always. I explained that
it is hard but at some time she will realize it is an unhealthy relationship. If you are crying
several times a week over the relationship then it is unhealthy. She was crying as she talked but
afterwards she said it helped to know others lived through her situation. I told her the secret is
to love herself enough first and then the rest becomes easier. But it is so hard for teenagers especially
young ladies to trust their selves enough to be independent. LOL now I have the honor to learn how
to trust someone else, Gerald. I can say that I have never cried over my current relationship. Except for
joy and happiness...then a few tears sneaked out. Oh well life is great in its circular way.
April 14, 2004 Wednesday
Okay yesterday snow ....today lower 70's with clear sunshiny day! Went out to buy cat food for
Mom's cats. So I went to the new Whole Foods store, oh my what a great store. I spent about two hours
walking around with my mouth hanging open. Great store they even gave me some free pickled beets. Okay
the highlight of my day was going to a new store..lol. Oh yeah talking to Gerald is great also.
April 13, 2004 Tuesday
Okay a really miserable type day. Cold rain some sleet and some snow makes for a dreary day.
Plus my morning really was awful. Forgot to set my clock last night...so of course I woke up
late...38 minutes late. Thank goodness for the dogs...they woke me up...wanting to go outside.
Then I could not find my keys. So I panicked and called the substitute center and Cathy C. to help
me get ready for a substitute. Then when I sat down to calm my nerves I remembered I had put my
keys in the refrigerator. So I quickly cancelled the substitute request and headed out. After that
the day was fine. Just felt disjointed. Now you may be wondering why my keys were in the refrigerator.
Well that was so I would not forget some food that I was taking to school. If I had awaken at my normal
time I would have opened the refrigerator for a diet coke and seen them...oh well best laid plans.
April 12, 2004
Just another Manic Monday, wish it was Sunday thats my fun day...Bangles.
It was nice starting the day talking with Gerald. Then off to work I went. It was a very
smooth day. I am worried about the prom tickets sales..they are very weak. Oh well cannot change
anything by worrying. This evening I am just relaxing. Working with the computer and talking with
Gerald. Cell phones with the headphones are wonderful for long distance relationships.
April 11, 2004 Easter Sunday
Woke up and boiled two dozen eggs for deviled eggs to take to Cathy's Easter dinner.
Then packed up and went to see my student at Kosairs childrens hospital. Gave her a pink bunny rabbit.
It was so wonderful to have Gerald with me for support. My student looks weak but her mom says she is doing
much better. I keep her in my prayers. Then off to Cathy's home. We got there early for Asti and orange juice.
Then the rest of the bunch all showed up. Good food good company! Then home we went for a lazy evening.
April 10, 2004 Saturday
Great day! Got up and went out to Ruby's to have a riding lesson. Gerald and I really enjoyed
the ride. We went for a very long trail ride around her property. Ruby was wonderful about
answering all our questions. We then spent a great deal of time petting and loving on Midnight.
The little filly that was born on Monday is so cute.
After we left Ruby we went shopping. Then off to Mom's we went for dinner and a movie. Gerald
and Mom get along so well. It was a wonderful evening...very relaxing. Lisa and Wes
both called and talked. I have a great family and boyfriend. Big Smile on my face...life is good.
Picture is of the little filly.
April 9, 2004 Good Friday
It was very nice waking up with company. LadyBird still follows me to the door and acts like
she will miss me. Jamie on the other hand felt compelled to stay with his new best buddy, Gerald in the bedroom.
Oh well it is good that we each have a loyal pet. It was Senior cut day today. Most of the
seniors were gone. So I gave all my students a test with all the answerers on the board. Just to reward those who
came to school. It was another glorious day outside. Called Ruby and she can give Gerald and I
a lesson tomorrow. Should be fun. Gerald gave me a wonderful shoulder rub today. I was real
stressed out. A freshman student is back in the hospital and I am really worried about her.
April 8, 2004 Thursday
Another wonderful day! I was blessed to be able to help with the track meet. It is so great
seeing good kids trying their hardest! Bethlem team members were so polite. I also really enjoy
the camaraderie with Peggy, Pat and Bill. They really are great people. Gerald came down for a visit.
He is in a bit of a huff over bad traffic and the tv show Survivor. Oh well life cannot be perfect.
April 7, 2004
Wonderful day in the 70's! Really do enjoy my parking lot duty. Went to the store and bought cleaning supplies
and some food. Have to get ready for my sweetie. I came home and did a rush cleaning of the house,
of course the animals had to help me. They had to keep bringing in new dirt and dropping extra hair.
Guess they thought the were helping. LadyBird had to attack the vacuum cleaner and Jamie took off
with my cleaning rags. Oh well they do entertain me.
April 6, 2004 Tuesday
Today was one of those perfect spring days. Trees blooming, birds singing and the dogs dancing
in the yard. A time for peace in ones soul.
April 5, 2004 Monday
It was tough waking up this morning with daylight savings starting. Classes went well, covered
an extra class at the end of the day. Was fun, love freshmen Algebra I students. Went to the bank
after school to learn how to look at my bank statement on the computer. Yes I am becoming more
computer literate by the moment.
Drove out to see Midnight afterwards. Was so cool got there and a filly had just been born
a hour earlier. A little paint, white with a few brown spots. I will take pictures next visit.
It was so cute trying to walk and then laying down and getting back up.
April 4, 2004 Sunday
Today was a totally lazy day. Gerald and I just stayed in bed and drank coffee and talked about everything...yes we now know how to save the world..lol. Then Gerald gave me a lesson on how to work on my webpage. So way cool, now I am into the cyberspace.
